Today's Grain Free .....No refined sugar recipe!!!

A year ago our family made a lifestyle change in our eating by taking wheat flours containing gluten out of our diet.  We have now expanded that change to eliminating grains and refined sugars from our diet. That's not to say we never fall "off-the-wagon", but we adhere to a more restrictive diet that is high in proteins and healthy fats and low in sugar.  I have linked some web pages I go to for guidance and recipes on the links section.

When we joined my family for Thanksgiving my oldest sister was very interested in our style of eating and asked for recipes to be emailed to her.  I get recipes from Pinterest, and different websites,  screen-shot them, then add them to a folder on either my phone or iPad to have quick access to when I am in the kitchen.

Instead of emailing friends and family members my recipes, I decided I could add one or two recipes to my blog a couple times a week and share my successes and failures in the grain-free, refined sugar-free quest for yumminess!!!

She said...."Yes!"

Our family is feeling blessed today as we prepare to congratulate Grant and Laura on their engagement.  The Lord was definitely at work preparing for these two to meet as counselors at Camp Blue Haven.

I encourage you both to enjoy this time!! Have fun sharing this wonderful news with all your friends and family!!  Cherish each moment, each opportunity, and each step in this journey.  Don't let yourself be overeager to move on to the next thing.  Let your Lord and Savior be at your side throughout your time together.
You are both loved!!!

This blog that I started in 2009 has been lying dormant for close to 4 years!  During that time there have been many changes in my life both internally and externally .  The best way for me to process and relish these events is to write about them.  From changes in our families diets to changes of the heart, I hope the chronicle all the things that might appear to be "little", but which I know will someday be the "big" things.

Thank you for traveling this road with me.  I hope to share encouragement, family events, recipes, scripture, exercise goals, but most of all my love for the Lord and his Son!  I have always loved to write and know that it keeps me accountable not only to myself but to others.
